I appreciate the comment. Here’s the problem, however. While there might be a lot of competition, it all depends on who you’re marketing to.
I’ve found plenty of proofreading business because of where I’m marketing and advertising my services. The “competition” isn’t advertising in these areas.
So, yes, you have a valid point, and I agree. But, when you target the right market you’ll always find business.
Not to burst any bubbles; you’ve got some competition.
I’ve always used papercheck, so there’s the biggest competion(from my sight). But, how many services like this are on the internet, on flyers in the resataurants, cafes, and schools that are local but cheap. Then there are librarians, they can be free and the can be up to fifteen dollars, but they’re in great quantity.
